And sometimes I feel that we lost a bit, of competition when booze and cigarette advertising was banned from most of the global motorsports.

Don’t get me wrong, in excess, those things are bad for you. But from a racing fan’s perspective, its a loss. To an extent, energy drinks companies replaced that money(but those could go away too, thanks to the moms of the world), oil companies are still throwing a bit of money in, but that’s about it.

I think we lost competition when Booz e and cigs stopped flushing massive cash into sport. Not because it simply was money, but the rules changed as well which eliminated their need for cash.

All F1 engines have to be the same arrangement V-6. Not just displacement, but they limit cylinder bores, V6 only, and height of crankshafts, etc. Subaru will never get to play in F1, Indy car, and pretty much every sport category out there if engine control is that tightly anti-developmentary.
